Project Director – Technical Direction

ALTEN Technical Direction is looking for an experienced leader and engineer to strengthen our Engineering Delivery Unit in Linköping. This is a unique opportunity to combine business development, technology, and leadership in a strategically important role.

As Project Director – Technical Direction, you will be a key player within our delivery organization and responsible for leading and driving projects, teams, development efforts, and growth in the technology area. You will lead a team of project managers in Linköping and potentially other locations in the future, with overall responsibility for 100 consultants within work package deliveries.

The role is part of ALTEN's Technical Direction, a department consisting of senior leaders and experts in areas such as production, mechanics, software, and embedded systems.

YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead, coach, and develop project managers and technical teams
• Ensure that deliveries are made on time, within budget, and with the right quality
• Oversee and optimize profitability in work package deliveries
• Build and strengthen customer relationships through strategic business development
• Drive expansion and growth of existing and new projects
• Participate in projects as a technical lead or project manager as needed
• Drive technical innovation through ALTEN's Center of Excellence in Engineering
• Be responsible for forecasting and financial tracking of projects

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for someone with a strong technical background and experience in leading teams and projects in a fast-paced and business-driven environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• M.Sc. in engineering (mechanics, software, embedded systems, or similar)
• 10+ years of experience in technology development
• Documented leadership and management experience in technical organizations
• Ability to deliver profitable and high-quality projects
• Good business understanding and experience in budget tracking and financial management
• Experience working in agile and fast-paced organizations

PREFERABLE:

• Experience leading large and complex technology deliveries
• Background in SAAB, the automotive industry, or other high-tech sectors
• Experience managing multinational or multisite teams
• Strong network within the engineering and technology sector
