Your workplace

Child and Adolescent Psychiatry is the region's specialist resource for children and adolescents with moderate to severe mental health issues and neuropsychiatric disabilities. We are a large workplace with about 190 employees from various professional backgrounds. Collaboration with other actors in society is a significant and important part of our work.

We have three interdisciplinary outpatient clinics that share responsibility for the patients within the catchment area, with the patient as a clear focus.

Clinic 5 consists of a unit for eating disorders and a specialist team that works with children with obsessive-compulsive disorder. The OCD team is a small team consisting of three therapists and a doctor. The team is responsible for patients with OCD and related conditions throughout Värmland. We are now looking for a colleague who wants to work and become part of a well-functioning team.

We are seeking a therapist with psychotherapy training/Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) level 1. The position includes a temporary contract for the entire year of 2026 with the possibility of extension.

Your tasks

As a therapist in the OCD team, you will work with children and adolescents with obsessive-compulsive disorder and related conditions. The treatment is based on the method of Exposure with Response Prevention, which currently has the best evidence for treatment.

You will work both in a team and individually to assess and treat OCD and related conditions. Comorbid issues are common, and good knowledge of neuropsychiatric disabilities (NPF) and working with pedagogical interventions is therefore necessary. You will also collaborate with care neighbors such as schools and social services.

As a new member of our team, you will initially work alongside your team members and gradually take on your own patients to become comfortable in the role.

Your skills and competencies

We are looking for someone who is a licensed psychologist, licensed health and medical care social worker, or nurse with basic psychotherapy training/CBT level 1, preferably with other relevant further education. Experience working in psychiatry is considered essential. A valid driver's license is required as travel may occur in the position.

You enjoy working in a close-knit team and helping with complex cases while also having the ability to work independently and take initiative. You are self-driven and structured in your work approach and have an easy time building and maintaining relationships through your good collaborative skills.
