Quartermaster for the Swedish Armed Forces Combat School for Defense Medicine (FSS)

The Swedish Armed Forces Combat School for Defense Medicine (FSS) at FömedC in Gothenburg is a joint resource of the Armed Forces responsible for developing and conducting training, exercises, and education for the entire armed forces in defense medicine.

We are now looking for a Quartermaster who will have responsibility for material, vehicles, and logistics support for the entire FSS operation.

FSS consists of three departments: the training department, the exercise department, and the simulation and method department. The training department conducts courses, training, and quality assurance of defense medicine training carried out at other units in Sweden. The exercise department plans, conducts, and evaluates training and exercises in defense medicine. The simulation and method department conducts and develops defense medical simulation and pedagogical methods.

Your main tasks will be to lead, direct, and implement material/vehicle/infrastructure/supply services for FSS. You will independently and in dialogue with higher management plan the logistics operations and what needs to be done to meet the logistical needs of the operation. The core activities of the Quartermaster revolve largely around material service and active logistics support for various types of activities conducted by FSS. You will also be the link between FSS, FömedC management (J4), and other units regarding material, vehicles, and logistics.

Common tasks for the Quartermaster at FSS:

  • Responsible for FSS material, vehicles, and facilities
  • Contact person for FSS logistics issues.
  • Contact person for logistics support for staff at FSS
  • Warehouse manager PRIO/LIFT
  • Logistics support for FSS activities, e.g., courses and exercises.

The work will involve travel and service at other locations, possibly internationally.

The Armed Forces are growing, and the tasks may develop.

Qualifications

  • Officer training or Specialist officer training
  • At least appointed OF1/OR6
  • Served as a quartermaster or in a position assessed as equivalent (Served in logistics platoon, Staff & Transport platoon, etc.)
  • Driving license B

Meritorious

  • Completed PRIO course GK MoF
  • Completed PRIO course PRIO Technical service
  • Previous experience in a similar position
  • Driving license C Heavy truck license
  • ADR basic training
  • ADR training class 1
  • Experience in defense medicine

Personal qualities

The position requires that you have good cooperation skills, are structured, and are responsible. You pay attention to practical details without losing sight of the whole in your work. You can solve complex tasks individually but also function as a leader for a group. The position requires that you can solve tasks under time pressure.

To succeed in this role, you should be service-oriented, proactive, and easily take on new tasks. You work in a structured and efficient manner with a solution-focused approach.
