Lawyer Wanted with a Focus on Equine Law
Centrumadvokaterna Syd ABBlekinge län, Olofström
Previous experience is desired
We have a partner who has specialized in equine law and is planning to retire in a few years, and we are now looking for a successor. If you are the right person, there may be opportunities for future partnership as our equine specialist chooses to retire or scale down.
We place great importance on your strong knowledge of contract law and sales law, as well as a genuine interest in horses. You cannot expect to work exclusively on these issues, especially not initially, but over time a large part of the work will focus on equine law. The area of equine law includes preventive work, such as drafting various types of agreements related to horses and assisting clients when disputes arise. This involves both representing in negotiations with opposing parties and assisting in court. Our geographical area covers the entire country, so you must be prepared for and understand that travel is included in the job. You are also expected to participate in the seminars, webinars, and other training sessions that we organize.
We are open to placing the right candidate at any of our three offices, so please indicate in your application which of our offices you would like your permanent placement at. We have offices in Växjö, Olofström, and Bromölla.
The firm also works with human rights law in a broad sense, covering everything from LVU/LVM/LPT and immigration law to custody cases, victim representation, special representatives for children, and defense assignments, as well as other areas such as inheritance law, co-ownership issues, and rental/servitude. You who are applying must be prepared for a certain part of your working hours to also be allocated to these areas, at least initially.
We hope that you are already a lawyer, but we can also hire an ambitious and skilled jurist with a Swedish law degree and a strong interest in horses.
We will conduct a rolling selection, and the first screening will be based on the written material, so it is important that this is thorough. We request degree certificates, transcripts from law school, proof of any additional experiences you wish to claim, contact details for references, information about the earliest start date and salary expectations, as well as information about which of our offices you wish to have your main placement at. We also request a formal CV.
We operate under a model with a base salary and commission. The billing requirement is 1,000 hours per calendar year, although the goal is to bill 1,300 hours per year.
The position requires that you fully master the Swedish language in both speech and writing. If you speak/write additional languages, this is an advantage.
The position requires a driver's license with B-category and access to a car.
We highly value the personal qualities of the applicant, and you should share our motto "the client at the center". Furthermore, we believe that education is important, and all employees are expected to participate in both internal and external training.
We desire a long-term collaboration and may be willing to wait for the right candidate, as well as potentially hiring before the application deadline if the right candidate appears.
If you have any questions, please contact lawyer Eva Johansson, who is currently responsible for equine law.
We look forward to many interesting applications!
