About us

Väsby Direkt is Upplands Väsby municipality's contact center and municipal reception – the natural entry point to the municipality for residents, businesses, and other actors. Our core mission is to make it easy to live and operate in Upplands Väsby by offering high accessibility, clear information and guidance, high-quality service, and a very good reception.

With us, customer guides work in several specialist groups with different focuses. Together, we handle a large influx of cases daily via phone, email, chat, and visits to the reception. Our ambition is to resolve as much as possible directly in the first contact and otherwise ensure that cases are documented correctly and quickly reach the right function in the municipality.

You will be part of the specialist group focusing on building permits, environment, and street/park/property – a team that works closely with the municipality's caseworkers and operations to ensure uniform information and good support for those who contact us. We share knowledge, support each other in complex issues, and have a common focus on reception, quality, and correct guidance.

Väsby Direkt is HBTQI+ certified. In our daily work, we meet people with different experiences and conditions, and we systematically work to develop our competence in reception and inclusion. Our vision is that all citizens and employees in Upplands Väsby municipality feel included, are met with respect, and have influence, regardless of their affiliation to the norm or minority group.

About the position

As a customer guide at Väsby Direkt, you are part of the municipality's front line and provide factual, clear, and equal service to residents, businesses, and other actors. You belong to the specialist group focusing on building permits, environment, and street/park/property and guide in matters that require correct information, a good ability to explain processes, and a working method where we follow laws, regulations, and routines.

Your assignment includes providing authority-related guidance in the building permit process, for example regarding document requirements, e-services, expected processing times, and the next steps in the case. You search for, interpret, and explain case status and relevant information in the operational systems for building permits, geodata/GIS, and environment, and can, if necessary, find historical decisions and documents via the municipality's e-archive. You also assist in the release of drawings and other documents and contribute to correct documentation and information management.

The role also includes guiding in notification and application matters according to the Environmental Code, receiving complaints within environmental and health protection, and handling questions about radon and urgent environmental matters. Furthermore, you provide support for the registration or modification of food businesses and inform about permit issues, for example related to alcohol and tobacco, based on the municipality's processes.

Within the community building area, you receive questions and fault reports, for example about snow removal, lighting, traffic, stormwater, roads, and playgrounds, as well as fault reports concerning the municipality's properties. You ensure that cases are documented correctly and sent to the right caseworker, contractor, or function.

You continuously collaborate with relevant units to keep information and working methods current and contribute to the development of routines and knowledge support.
