In Varberg's congregation, we have three churches, each with a different profile, but with a long tradition of conducting rich diaconal work.

As a deacon in Varberg's congregation, we have the worship service as a natural starting point. Additionally, there are well-established activities where we meet people of all ages.

About the position

We are looking for someone who wants to join the good work being done for God's kingdom through your unique contribution as a deacon. You are a voice for those who have none and contribute by conveying signs of hope.

You will be part of a context where diaconal work takes place locally around each church and collectively through important diaconal efforts, including deacon receptions, counseling receptions, Christmas celebrations, and the hospital chaplaincy's preparedness. The position involves managing existing activities, but there is also an opportunity to develop based on the competencies you bring into the work with us.

Qualifications

You enjoy working in a team, both in relation to other deacons and other staff, as well as the volunteers present in our church workgroups. We expect you, as a deacon, to be accustomed to and enjoy leading devotions and working with volunteers.

To thrive with us, it is important to be able to work within the broad framework of the Church of Sweden, which is expressed in the different profiles of our three churches and in the various forms of worship in each church. You are well grounded in your faith in Jesus.

We manage funds and foundation resources, so experience working with similar tasks is an advantage.
