Personal Assistant for a Girl with Down Syndrome, Daytime

We are looking for two cheerful and dedicated personal assistants during the day for a girl with Down syndrome.

About the Positions

We offer a fixed-term employment as long as the assistance assignment lasts at 85%, as well as a parental substitute position at 90% until January 2027. The positions can be combined to achieve more or fewer hours, depending on your preferences. Working hours are generally weekdays, approximately 07:30-15:30 or 09:30-17:30.

Job Responsibilities

You will create a meaningful and joyful everyday life for the girl. She loves playing board games, crafting, baking, playing, and having fun. Although she is 15 years old, she has a younger mindset and sees each assistant as her friend. She has heart and lung disease, autism, and enjoys being close. We work with low-arousal approaches and use play and role-playing to create a safe and positive environment. Your tasks will include monitoring oxygen levels, oxygen therapy, medication via button/PEG, and hygiene. You will receive thorough training and the opportunity to develop through courses and increased responsibilities.

Who Are You

The girl is looking for a woman who retains a childlike spirit, is full of energy, always happy, and secure. It is important that you can play and have a good sense of humor, as this is how the girl builds relationships.

Qualifications

It is an advantage if you have experience in similar work, but the most important thing is that the personal chemistry is right. Due to the risk of infections, the position is not suitable for individuals with younger children in their home. A requirement is that you communicate fluently in Swedish as the girl needs clear communication. A driver's license is beneficial but not mandatory.
