Do you have an interest in and experience with circular economy and waste issues and want to contribute to the development and implementation of the government’s policies in this area? We can offer an exciting job in the heart of the action.

The work of developing national regulations and implementing EU legislation in the waste area and circular economy is in an intensive phase. We are now looking for a person with knowledge and interest in circular economy and waste to strengthen this work. You should have an interest in both legislative work and technical issues. The job involves many contacts within the Ministry of Climate and Enterprise, within the Government Offices, and with authorities. Travel may occur. As an officer, you will primarily work with waste issues and circular economy, including the implementation of EU legislation nationally and at the EU level. Negotiation of new EU legislation may become relevant. Government oversight and budget or other issues within the unit's area of responsibility may also be relevant. The work includes preparing government matters such as inquiries and propositions, proposals for legislative changes, producing materials for the political leadership, preparing instructions for Sweden's action line, and, if necessary, participating in meetings and representing Sweden in national, EU, and international contexts. You are expected to have contacts with relevant actors both within and outside Sweden.

Your background

A relevant academic degree and relevant work experience in a government agency or politically governed organization are required for the position. You have experience from relevant work with waste issues, circular economy, or related areas. Relevant knowledge in the climate and environmental field as well as good knowledge of Swedish and English in speech and writing is a requirement for the position.

Work experience with EU legislation and relevant experience or knowledge of supervision or permit assessment is meritorious. Knowledge of national and EU regulations in waste, circular economy, or related areas is desirable. Experience from working in the Government Offices is also meritorious.
