Temporary Position as a Lawyer at the Riksbank

WHAT YOU WILL DO WITH US

As a temporary lawyer in the Markets Department, you will work with contract negotiations, legal advice, and analysis of legal aspects regarding the implementation of monetary policy and the Riksbank's asset management. You will primarily work on establishing financial agreements with the Riksbank's counterparties (mainly banks and financial institutions) related to the management of the gold and currency reserves and the implementation of monetary policy. Since the Riksbank is a government agency, the work will also involve administrative law.

You will take significant personal responsibility and work independently while also collaborating with colleagues in the department, others at the Riksbank, and relevant counterparties on many issues.

YOUR TEAM

The Riksbank consists of nine departments. In the Markets Department, you will be part of the liquidity supply analysis unit, which includes both economists and lawyers. In your role as a lawyer, you will work across the entire department and will also have contacts with other departments within the Riksbank. MORE ABOUT YOU

You have a Swedish law degree (formerly a Bachelor of Laws) and several years of experience in qualified legal work at either a government agency, financial institution, or in banking and finance. You have good knowledge of and experience in working with contract law, financial market law, property law, and administrative law. It is advantageous if you have worked with capital market transactions and their standard agreements, such as those developed by ISDA and ICMA.

As a person, you are self-driven, proactive, and structured with a very good analytical ability. You are also good at collaborating and communicating and have high integrity. You understand and take into account different perspectives and viewpoints and consider the whole in your solutions. You are pedagogical and can explain and illuminate various complicated legal issues in a simple and structured way.

You have a good ability to express yourself well in both spoken and written Swedish and English. We see a genuine interest in financial and socio-economic issues as a given.

Location: Head office Stockholm
Working hours: Trust-based working hours
Opportunity to work remotely: 1 or 2 days a week

The position may be placed in a security class, and a security review including a background check, security interview, and special personal investigation will be conducted for the final candidate. For certain positions, Swedish citizenship is required.
