Job Responsibilities
Vintergatan's HVB is one of Gothenburg's municipal HVB homes, organized under the department of HVB and supported housing within the Social Administration Sydväst from January 1, 2026.
The facility is located in Bergsjön and has space for five youths aged 15-19 years. The youths are placed primarily based on SoL but in some cases also LVU, always considering the environment rather than individual behavior. The youths may come to us from their families, other institutions, emergency homes, or interrupted foster care placements. The length of placement is assessed individually based on the youths' needs and can vary from months to over a year.
As a therapist/social worker, you play a significant role in creating a safe and structured daily life for the youths. At Vintergatan, we work from a systemic approach, and collaboration with the youth's network is an essential part of this. We strive for close cooperation with the youth's family, school/employment, healthcare contacts, relevant units within social services, and other important people in the youth's life. We have organized our operations to be as homelike as possible, which includes all practical tasks typically found in a home, such as cooking, cleaning, assisting with homework, etc. In Social Administration Nordost, the documentation system Treserva is used, and documentation is also one of the daily tasks.
The work involves being a contact person for one or more youths. An important part is having conversations with the youth. As a contact person, you are also responsible for designing and maintaining focus on the implementation plan established based on the assignment we receive from social services. With this background, our ambition is to meet needs and adapt methods based on the individual and the assignment.
We are now looking for a team member to join our team consisting of a manager, coordinator, and therapist/social worker. You will work on a rotating schedule with shifts during days, evenings, nights, and weekends. The work includes some degree of solitary work. As a therapist/social worker with us, you will have the opportunity to work in a small and stable team with a great chance to influence the operations. The work is varied, rewarding, and challenging. The position is a temporary contract for about 12 months.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who is a qualified social worker, behavioral scientist, or has other education deemed equivalent by the employer. You need to have previous experience in social work with youths facing psychosocial issues, and prior experience working in HVB with youths will be considered an asset. Furthermore, we see it as an advantage if you have a B driver's license.
In the role of therapist/social worker, it is important that you are responsible and can drive your tasks independently, while also being collaborative and unpretentious. You have a good demeanor and find it easy to build trusting relationships. It is important that you are flexible and can adapt your communication based on the situation when interacting with the youths, their families, and other stakeholders. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
Our selection and interview process may begin before the application deadline, so we warmly welcome you to submit your application today.
