Family Therapist for the Attendance Team in Mölndal

In the city of Mölndal, we are proud to have Sweden's most important jobs, where we together create the best possible everyday life for our citizens. With knowledge, courage, and creativity, we develop our operations and contribute to making Mölndal an even better place to live and work. Welcome to make a difference in people's everyday lives every day!

We are a politically governed organization that operates on behalf of our municipal residents through our elected politicians. We have a systemic approach and a strong child/youth and user perspective. The Attendance Team - school social collaboration is Mölndal's school social team. The Attendance Team has a shared leadership consisting of the unit manager for outpatient care in the social and labor market administration and a unit manager from the school administration. Currently, the Attendance Team consists of two family therapists, a social pedagogue, a part-time special educator, and a teacher with a social service dog who works on an hourly basis. We are now expanding the team from the school's side with a special educator/special teacher (another ad) and with another family therapist from our social services.

The Attendance Team works with home and school in parallel, always aiming to get students with high school absenteeism back to school. The team works intensively with children and adolescents and their families, and the work involves a lot of collaboration with external actors.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

You and the team work to break long-term school absenteeism by working closely with the family, network, social worker who approved the intervention, and school staff.

As a family therapist in Mölndal's Attendance Team, you are an important link between parents and the school, and together with the social pedagogue and special educator, you work to create conditions for the child/adolescent to thrive and have the opportunity to reinstate education and schooling. The job responsibilities are varied, and you will be involved in developing collaboration and your role. You will, among other things:

  • Work with the child/adolescent and their family at home and in operational premises to build a strong relationship and collaboration.
  • Be a bridge to the family and to the school and enable a gradual return to school.
  • Work closely with schools to help ensure a smooth return to school for the student.
  • Listen and create good conditions for collaboration.
  • Plan and conduct family conversations, collaboration meetings, and network meetings.
  • Evaluate progress and report results to a steering group and respective committee.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a relevant academic degree such as a social worker, behavioral scientist, or other education deemed equivalent. Experience in family therapy is a requirement. Experience working in public administration with children and youth, as well as individuals with neuropsychiatric disabilities from social change work, is an advantage. You must be able to express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing, as this is required in daily work.

We are looking for someone who is a secure and persistent team player who contributes to a good collaborative climate and takes shared responsibility for your common mission. You have a good ability to create trusting relationships, value differences, and understand how background, culture, and group affiliation affect individuals. To succeed in the role, you need to have self-leadership. You dare to try, take initiative, and are not afraid to make mistakes but see them as an opportunity to develop.

Become a part of our Attendance Team and contribute to new working methods and collaborations for our children and students in Mölndal!
