Job Advertisement: Educator for Individual Programs

Svalöv Municipality – with a strategic location within the Family Helsingborg – offers proximity, optimism, and a favorable climate for work and life. Good communication makes it easy to commute. Approximately 14,500 residents live here.

Svalöfs Gymnasium and adult education, located in shared premises, has about 800 students. The school offers four national programs: the Natural Resource Program, the Vehicle and Transport Program, the Construction and Civil Engineering Program, and the Electrical and Energy Program. There are also four introductory programs that prepare students for further studies or work. Adult education consists of SFI, basic and high school courses, as well as vocational training. About 100 high school students live in the student accommodation at Svalöfs Gymnasium during the week.

The school also has three programs in adapted upper secondary school: Forest, Land and Animals, Vehicle and Goods Handling, and the Individual Program. Next year, the Individual Program will expand into its own premises, and we are therefore looking for a new colleague.

The school has approximately 135 staff members who all work with the best interests of the students in mind. The school has developed clear structures and strategies towards set goals to ensure that all students succeed in their studies and considers systematic quality work, value-based work, and formative teaching as important processes. The working teams have their own premises and workspaces and are responsible for their own budgets and scheduling. Mentorship is a central part of our students' well-being and success.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Starting next academic year, the Individual Program will expand into its own premises, and we are looking for someone interested in working with this student group and in building up this education. In the Individual Program, you will meet students who, to an even greater extent than other students, need individual adjustments to benefit from their education. We always strive for our students to be as involved and included as possible, which requires flexibility and a view of students that sees opportunities rather than obstacles. The goal is always for each student to achieve as much as possible based on their conditions, and this requires collaboration among educators as well as with guardians and other parts of society.

QUALIFICATIONS

We expect you, as an applicant, to have:

• Experience working in an adapted school.
• Knowledge of AAC.
• Strong didactic competence and the ability to meet students with varying needs and challenges.

It is qualifying if you have a special education degree with a focus on disabilities (specialization in intellectual disabilities) or equivalent.

We place great emphasis on personal suitability. The position will commence in the spring term of 2026.
