The Education Administration is responsible for preschool, primary school, adapted primary school, upper secondary school, and adapted upper secondary school. The responsibility also includes student health, mother tongue instruction, school transport, and school meals. We work to create an inspiring learning environment for approximately 10,000 children and students. We have a strong vision of building knowledge and creating dreams.

The Workplace

At Söderslättsgymnasiet, we have 10 national programs as well as introductory programs and adapted upper secondary school. The school is located across two units, S:t Nicolai and Bastionen. Each program primarily belongs to one unit, but teaching may occur at both units. We want students to develop self-awareness, self-confidence, and a desire to seek and absorb new knowledge. In the municipality of Trelleborg, we also have the opportunity to offer our particularly skilled teachers various career paths such as team leaders or lead teachers.

We at Söderslättsgymnasiet are looking for a teacher for instruction in natural science. You will be part of the child and leisure program.

Responsibilities

As a teacher, you work to support, motivate, and stimulate each student to meet the knowledge requirements based on their conditions. You will teach natural science in both preparatory and vocational programs. You and your colleagues create a developing study environment for the students in the program. You work as part of a team based on the clarified responsibility assignment expressed in the curriculum for upper secondary school. This means that together with the principal and other colleagues, you lead and develop the school's daily operations for increased goal fulfillment.

At Söderslättsgymnasiet, we will introduce full-time mentors from the autumn of 2025, which means that you as a teaching teacher will have more time for the main task, namely teaching. You will have the opportunity to focus more on the development of your courses, but also for example on interdisciplinary collaboration. We see all students as everyone's students, where everyone has a part in the individual needs and conditions on the way to goals.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed upper secondary school teacher with qualifications in the subject of natural science. The assignment requires that you have good knowledge of the school's mission and are well acquainted with what the upper secondary reform Gy25 entails as well as other governing documents.

To thrive and function in the professional role as an upper secondary school teacher, it is of utmost importance that you are secure, stable, and self-aware. You see the whole in the pedagogical assignment and can work to motivate students for development both academically and personally. You have a good understanding of how students absorb knowledge and adapt teaching according to the student's and group's conditions and prior knowledge. You communicate clearly, well-formulated, and engagingly, both in individual conversations and in larger groups. You have the ability to create good relationships with students, guardians, and other contacts you meet in your professional role.

Furthermore, you take responsibility for your tasks and work structured by planning, organizing, and prioritizing effectively. You engage with current research and dare to think outside the box. Collaboration is a natural part of your work, and you are open to feedback from both colleagues and management to improve your teaching and leadership.

As a person, you are development-oriented and have good communicative skills as well as the ability to see the whole picture. You thrive in an environment that places high demands on responsibility and flexibility.
