Profile Requirements
The Department of Service Science at Lund University is now seeking a PhD candidate for the project “Sustainable Leadership for the Benefit of Citizens.”
Leaders are a central link between strategic goals and everyday work, especially in the public sector where their decisions directly affect citizens. At the same time, the ill health among Swedish – particularly female – leaders is increasing sharply, which risks reinforcing inequality. Despite the fact that leaders in the public sector work in complex environments, support for sustainable leadership is almost unexplored, making leaders' ill health a critical blind spot that needs to be addressed to create sustainable societal solutions. Read more about the project here.
The PhD candidate we are looking for will be part of the national Graduate School for the Future of the Public Sector, FOFOS. FOFOS is a transdisciplinary and innovative graduate school that serves as a national knowledge hub for the development of new action-oriented knowledge for the transformation of the public sector. You can read more about FOFOS here.
FOFOS is part of SustainGov, one of Sweden's five Impact Innovation programs initiated by the Swedish Energy Agency, Formas, and Vinnova.
Job Responsibilities
As a PhD candidate, you will primarily focus on your own doctoral education, where independent writing of a doctoral thesis constitutes the largest part. Institutional duties of up to 20% of full-time may occur, mainly in the form of teaching, whereby the employment is extended correspondingly. The PhD candidate will have access to a workplace at the Department of Service Science, Campus Helsingborg. The candidate is expected to be present at the department and actively participate in the research and teaching environment.
