Bromölla High School and Adult Education is expanding its career and study guidance! We are the small school with a big belief in our students and their paths to studies and work! Currently, about 55 students are enrolled in our high school program for individual alternatives and language introduction, and annually we have about 400 students in various courses and study paces at Adult Education.

We are looking for someone who wants to work in a dedicated team with a strong focus on the needs and conditions of the students. As a career and study counselor with us, you will have a shared position between our high school and Adult Education, with training in SFI, basic, and upper secondary courses. We offer vocational training together with other municipalities in northeastern Skåne! You will collaborate with existing career and study counselors, coordinators for municipal activity responsibility, teachers, and student coordinators.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a career and study counselor at the high school, you will work both to guide students towards studies and to build up work around students who want to enter the workforce, such as working with internships and collaborating with the Employment Service. You will also drive our development work around entrepreneurship, collaborating with the municipality's business developers.

You will be part of our student health team, where we gather cross-professionally to find pathways forward for each individual. You will also be responsible for students' applications to the national programs of high school or folk high school. In guidance, it is important to identify and meet students with high and realistic expectations, understand that there may be obstacles, and support the student in finding their goals and pathways to reach them. In daily interactions, humility and respectful treatment are of utmost importance, as well as setting and maintaining boundaries.

As a career and study counselor at Adult Education, you will play a key role in supporting adult learners in finding pathways to further studies and employment. The target group consists of individuals with very diverse backgrounds, experiences, and life situations, making the guidance mission both significant and developmental.

Your work will include:

• Individual study and career guidance where you meet students at different stages of life and in various phases of their educational journey. You help them formulate goals, see opportunities, understand pathways forward, and make informed decisions.
• Guidance for SFI students where you clarify educational pathways, further study choices, and opportunities in the labor market. You contribute to creating security and structure for students who often encounter Swedish education for the first time.
• Group guidance and information sessions where you provide students with knowledge about the education system, admission rules, vocational training, and the needs of the labor market.
• Work with eligibility assessment and admission where you ensure that students are placed correctly based on their prior knowledge, goals, and conditions.
• Collaboration with the labor market, Employment Service, counselors in other municipalities, and internal functions such as teachers and administration to create clear and sustainable study pathways.
• Follow-up and structured planning, where you monitor students' development and ensure that the right support is in place for them to succeed in their studies and approach the labor market.
• Mapping and validation where you contribute to our development work based on the guidelines from the Swedish National Agency for Education.

• Driving license B
