Job Responsibilities

We are now looking for a teacher for grades 7-9 with qualifications in physical education, social studies, religion, and history for Bergaskolan! As a teacher at Bergaskolan, you will conduct modern and creative teaching and find strategies to reach each student and support them in both knowledge development and personal growth. Your responsibilities include planning, implementing, and evaluating the educational work based on the school's governing documents and the students' needs and interests, both individually and together with your team. You will collaborate with other school staff to create a good learning and working environment for both students and staff and actively participate in the school's development work. Your role may also involve mentoring a class. As a mentor, you will have specific responsibility for the students in your class, allowing you to closely follow their academic progress and personal maturity. As a mentor, you will inform and keep the students' guardians updated on their academic development through regular development discussions. The position is a temporary contract for the spring term, so it is important that you can start no later than February 24.

Qualifications

You who apply are a certified teacher with qualifications to teach grades 7-9 in the subjects of physical education, social studies, religion, and history. Previous experience as a teacher is considered an advantage. You have good insight and knowledge of the school's governing documents and apply them in your daily work. Furthermore, you have strong didactic and pedagogical skills, allowing you to lead and organize your work to create a conducive learning environment for our students throughout their school day. Based on evidence-based research, you can develop your work and effectively use relevant digital tools with good knowledge and experience. Of course, you maintain a professional attitude and work to build good relationships with our students, their guardians, and all your colleagues at the school. You have good computer skills and experience using IT in your teaching. It is essential that you have a good command of Swedish in both spoken and written form.

You are creative and can adapt your approach and pedagogical methods and techniques based on the individual student's needs or the needs of the student group. You develop the educational activities to be both fun, inspiring, and challenging. We expect you to see each student from a holistic perspective and have a positive view of students. You create good relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.

Bergaskolan is a school with all the facilities needed for a K-9 school. There is a large, bright cafeteria, home economics classrooms, a dedicated science building, and a library where students have access to knowledgeable staff, newspapers, magazines, and both new and old fiction and non-fiction books in various subjects. Bergaskolan has an auditorium with a stage and seating for 150 people. All our sports activities take place in Limhamn's sports hall. Bergaskolan is located in Limhamn, close to the city center, green areas, and the sea.
