About the Role and Your Responsibilities

As a substitute teacher at Genarps School, you have a varied role where you are a valuable resource for us.

We need substitutes for grades 4-9 in primary school and occasionally in after-school care. The scope and content of the assignments are determined by the daily needs of the organization and are therefore constantly changing.

You need to be able to come and work at short notice, for shorter or longer assignments when regular staff have planned or unplanned absences, such as due to illness or training. Sometimes you will replace staff for single shifts, other times for a longer period.

The work involves teaching classes and groups based on the regular teachers' planning or, in some cases, your own planning. In after-school care, you and your colleagues are responsible for care and educational activities.

When you come as a substitute with us, you make an important contribution to creating a meaningful school day for our students!

We Are Looking For You

We are looking for someone with at least a high school diploma, preferably with experience working with children and youth. If you are studying to become a teacher, teaching assistant, after-school educator, or student assistant, we consider that an advantage.

To succeed in this role, it is important that you have a very good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both verbally and in writing.

Personal qualities that are important in this work include a positive attitude, being responsible, and flexible, as the assignments are varied and require the ability to adapt to changing circumstances. Since communication with both educators and students is an important part of the job, you must have good collaboration and communication skills.

About the Workplace

At Genarps School, we have about 300 students in grades 4-9. We are about 50 employees working together closely with the students to create accessible and safe learning environments. We care about building good relationships with each other and with our students. In our development work, we focus on accessible learning environments and language and knowledge-developing methods. We work in bright and fresh facilities. Each classroom is equipped with a smartboard/projector, and all students have their own iPad/computer.
