About the Job

Do you want to help strengthen the community's resilience and contribute to a safer Lidköping – both in peacetime and during heightened preparedness? We are looking for a security coordinator focused on civil defense.

As a security coordinator, you will work strategically to develop the municipality's preparedness according to the Act (2006:544) on municipalities' and regions' measures in preparation for and during extraordinary events in peacetime and heightened preparedness, as well as related legislation.

Your work will strengthen the municipality's overall ability to prevent and manage severe strains – from everyday crises to situations of heightened preparedness or war. You will play a central role in defining what measures the municipality needs to take to meet future demands for civil defense.

The work will be carried out in close cooperation with the municipality's existing security coordinators, the security protection manager, and other relevant functions – both internally and externally. The role can be shaped based on your qualifications and focus.

Job Responsibilities

As a security coordinator within civil defense, your tasks will include:

• Working based on the agreement between MSB and SKR regarding municipalities' work with civil defense, where priorities may vary over time.
• Directing, guiding, and supporting the municipality's tasks and planning according to preparedness legislation.
• Coordinating information, training, exercises, and conferences in the area.
• Supporting the security protection manager and unit manager in processing issues.
• Driving, developing, and following up the municipality's overall work based on governing documents, collaboration agreements, and action plans.
• Collaborating internally within the municipality and externally with other municipalities, authorities, and stakeholders.
• Monitoring developments through active environmental scanning.

Who Are You?

We are looking for someone with a bachelor's degree in areas such as risk and crisis management, political science, law, or other relevant education. Alternatively, you have documented experience deemed equivalent.

To succeed in this role, you need:

• Knowledge of crisis management, total defense, or security-related activities.
• Experience in strategic work within public administration.

It is advantageous if you also have training in security protection and signal protection.

As a person, you are analytical, structured, and communicative – you can convey complex information clearly and accessibly to different target groups. You thrive in a role where you can combine development work with practical coordination and where you can contribute to the whole.
