We are now looking for a Company Controller for our client. Our client is a municipally owned company responsible for a comprehensive community-critical service within environmental and infrastructure-related operations. The organization is owned by several municipalities in the region and works to ensure and develop sustainable processes related to the company's core mission. The need for an interim company controller has arisen while waiting for a permanent recruitment.

Role Description:

As a company controller/business controller, you will support the CEO in governance and management processes at the company level. The role includes budget and operational planning, follow-up, and ensuring that the company's goal management complies with the requirements and guidelines set by the owners. In a municipally owned company, this also means navigating the specific assignments that follow from political decisions and owner governance. The role is both strategic and close to operations.

Responsibilities include, among others:

• Planning, anchoring, and leading the company's goal process together with the CEO and the management team. • Ensuring that the goal management of the owner municipalities is handled within the company's governance model. • Supporting the CEO in preparing management team meetings according to the company's annual cycle and taking minutes. • Quality assuring all decision and information matters to the board, and if necessary, preparing these yourself. • Monitoring minutes and decisions from relevant political bodies and conveying influence to the management team. • Preparing strategic meetings, including agenda, minute-taking, and follow-up of decisions. • Acting as a contact point for authorities such as the Companies Registration Office.

The company controller is part of a team that serves as a support and service function for management, employees, and the board. The team consists of about 17 employees with expert competence in finance, HR, procurement, communication, administrative services, and corporate governance. The role works closely with the administrator in connection with board meetings and other forums for strategic governance.

Required Qualifications:

• Relevant academic education, for example, in finance, public administration, or social sciences, or other equivalent education. • Several years of experience as a controller in the public sector, preferably from municipal companies. Alternatively, several years of experience as a committee secretary or committee coordinator. • Good understanding of municipal processes and corporate governance. • Ability to see the big picture and work in a structured manner. • Very good written communication skills and experience working with clear processes and deadlines. • Detail-oriented and thrives in a role where order, quality, and time management are central. • Experience in business development.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in a management team. • Experience from municipally or regionally owned companies.

Start Date and Application:

Start date: 2026-01-01 End date: 2026-04-30. Possibility of extension for two months at a time, up to a maximum of 12 months.
