The Surgical Clinic consists of ward 42, ward 44, and the secretariat. The Surgical Clinic also operates at the outpatient unit administered by the orthopedic clinic and the endoscopy unit belonging to the medical clinic, as well as the emergency department and surgery. The secretariat works for both the surgical, including urology and oncology sections, as well as the orthopedic clinic.

We work towards common goals and visions, which means our work ethic is high. Breaks can sometimes be loud, but in between, we work hard as we have the patient's best interest in mind. We work in small teams within the larger group, which means you rotate between the department/archive and the secretariat; collaboration skills are essential.

As we focus on the patient, we base our staffing for weekends/holidays and absences on this, meaning your work will involve evening and weekend shifts, including major holidays.

In addition to transcribing dictations, which we prioritize highest, we have side tasks such as visit registrations, record responsibilities, staffing of receptions, etc. You will have your own areas of responsibility that you will manage to the best of your ability. Since we work for four different specialties, all secretaries have a broad competence. A holistic view and the ability to plan your work are important to us.

As our group is passionate about developing the secretarial profession, we are constantly looking for new tasks to assist our colleagues such as nurses, doctors, and other staff. The entire clinic is our team. Therefore, we want you to join our group with an open mind and a positive attitude towards new tasks and have the ability to discuss/develop, both in a group and independently. For us, it is more important that you fit into our well-functioning group than that you have an impressive resume.

As a medical secretary, you should:

• be an educated medical secretary or healthcare administrator
• have good knowledge of the Swedish language in speech and writing

You have a mature attitude towards work and possess both the ability and willingness to do your absolute best. You work according to a clear process, organize and plan your work well. Complete what you start on time and meet deadlines. To succeed in the role, you also need to adapt and find win-win solutions through an unpretentious focus on the common goal.
