About the Position

We are looking for a temporary property economist who will work with the municipality's housing company Gagnefsbostäder AB, the municipality's technical department that manages the municipal property portfolio, and the community planning department that works with infrastructure issues in the municipality.

The position is located in the finance department of Gagnef Municipality, which is responsible for financial administration and financial management in the municipality. We are a small unit where all employees have multiple areas of responsibility and thus varied tasks. With us, you have the opportunity to develop in your professional role and play an important role in our operations. The department is centrally located in the organization, which means you have close access to both colleagues and municipal management.

You will be offered a position with a 39-hour workweek, a generous flexitime agreement, wellness allowance, and the opportunity to work remotely.

Job Responsibilities

For the company, you will independently be responsible for ongoing accounting, follow-up, reporting, and preparation of annual financial statements and tax returns. Other finance-related tasks may also occur.

For the municipality, you will be responsible for follow-up work, forecasts, and budgets in close collaboration with the heads of the operations.

Qualifications

The work as an economist is independent, and you structure your own work. You are service-oriented and have good collaboration skills with our managers and your colleagues. The work involves continuously discussing and following up on the financial work with managers, which requires flexibility and the ability to convey and explain finance based on different recipients' conditions.

We are looking for someone who:

• Has an academic education in economics or equivalent
• Has experience with budgets, financial statements, and tax returns
• Is analytical, meticulous, and enjoys working independently
• Preferably has experience from the real estate industry or public sector
• Has a very good ability to express yourself orally and in writing in Swedish.

Conditions

Temporary employment, 100%, until 2027-10-01. The position is a parental leave substitute. Start date by agreement, but no later than 2026-03-01.
