Almhaga is looking for a specialist nurse assistant who wants to help develop our operations forward, coach and guide, and apply their in-depth knowledge based on the needs of the elderly while contributing skills in person-centered and health-promoting work.

Almhaga is a special accommodation with around 30 dedicated employees providing care and support to individuals with cognitive illnesses and their relatives. As a specialist nurse assistant, you will play a significant role in our shared ambition to increase quality and create the best possible care for the elderly and a workplace where employees thrive and develop. You will be an important part of the team and work closely with licensed staff and the unit manager. You will participate in the regular operations with care tasks close to the elderly with multiple illnesses.

In your role as a specialist nurse assistant, you will guide and mentor your colleagues in daily work and contribute your in-depth knowledge in activating and rehabilitative approaches. The role is new for Almhaga, so we will together find a model that suits us. Since we believe it is important to utilize your skills in daily work, you will be involved in care work and serve varied shifts, morning and evening, as well as every other weekend. Your knowledge, among other things, about the importance of the environment for healthy aging, your ability to notice needs and changes in the elderly, and your ability to work solution-focused in the elderly's daily life, make you an ambassador and driving partner where you share your expertise in gerontology and geriatrics.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for you who are a nurse assistant with a specialization in elderly health and illness, palliative care, acute care, psychiatry, or dementia. The work requires that you have previous experience working with individuals with dementia and we would like you to have experience with the assessment tool BPSD. Experience in mentoring and training is an advantage.

Since communication and documentation are important parts of the work, you need to be accustomed to working with IT-based systems and have a good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing. You also need to have a B driver's license.

We are looking for someone who can independently plan and structure their work and initiate and drive improvement work. In your role as a specialist, you will be observant of the environment and network to be able to introduce new working methods and approaches in areas such as meeting and communication, welfare technology and aids, palliative approaches, etc. You have the ability to use assessment and evaluation tools and perform tasks from licensed staff in a correct and professional manner. You engage with evidence-based research and motivate and inspire quality and development work. You will conduct and/or participate in training initiatives, study circles, family support, method development, staff meetings, and group meetings. Your ability to express yourself well in speech and writing is important, as part of your role consists of documenting and conveying knowledge and information.

The operations of the Social Services Administration are aimed at the elderly and individuals who need functional support as well as those in need of home healthcare. The operations are functionally divided into four areas: support in ordinary housing, support in care and nursing homes, health and medical care, and functional support. The administration also includes the authority unit, the national gymnasium, and the aids center in Eastern Skåne.
