The adult psychiatry area in Kristianstad offers specialist psychiatric care in northeastern and southeastern municipalities of Skåne. We have a wide geographical spread, but despite this, our operations are characterized by proximity and short decision-making paths. The emergency department, together with our acute care places, is responsible for the high-intensity care of patients in the acute phase before they can be discharged or transferred to another inpatient care department. The work is done in interdisciplinary teams consisting of nurses, nursing assistants, social workers, doctors, medical secretaries, supply pharmacists, and dietitians. We employees enjoy working together, and together with our unit managers, we constantly strive for high patient safety and a good working environment.

For us, it is important to retain and recruit nurses who want to stay and develop within the organization. Therefore, we work on issues that are important for the long-term development and working environment of nurses with us. Among other things, we have created a mentoring group for you who are a new nurse or a new nurse in psychiatry and work with both short- and long-term measures to ensure a good working environment and competence development for the nursing group. In addition, it may be relevant to pursue specialist training within the framework of your employment.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

At our emergency department, you will have the first contact with incoming emergencies. The main tasks are assessment, triage, and telephone advice. Since you are the face of the organization, a professional approach, high competence, flexibility, responsiveness, and empathy are extremely important qualities.

In your role as a nurse in our acute care places, you will tailor the care according to the patient's needs, where collaboration with the patient's network and, for example, care neighbors in the community becomes a natural part of your work. You are also expected to lead the nursing work. In addition, tasks such as monitoring health status, assessing nursing needs, offering support conversations and advice, medication management, and documentation are included.

To ensure a safe start with us, we offer you as a newly hired nurse not only an individually tailored introduction but also a basic year including seminars, lectures, and opportunities for networking with both new and more experienced nursing colleagues. We have nursing supervision every week where we focus on the patient's individual needs and wishes.

With us, you will become an expert in meeting patients, have time for each patient, and play a key role in psychiatric care. You will also have time to reflect on your work and the meetings with patients together with other colleagues in the team. Many patients in psychiatric inpatient care have a high degree of comorbidity, which gives you the opportunity to work and develop both in psychiatric and somatic care.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is:

• A licensed nurse with permission to practice in Swedish healthcare. Alternatively, you have started your nursing education and are in your final semester.
• Language skills in Swedish corresponding to at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe's level scale.
• Experience working in an emergency department and triage is an advantage.
• If you have experience working in psychiatry and/or specialist training in psychiatry, that is also an advantage.
• Experience working with the systems Melior and/or Mina planer.
• You are welcome to have an interest in or experience in working in development processes.
