Make a Difference. Every Day.

Within the orthopedic department (VO) at Skåne University Hospital (Sus), approximately 500 employees work, making us one of Sweden's largest orthopedic operations. Our activities encompass both outpatient and inpatient care and are distributed between our units in Malmö and Lund. The inpatient care consists of three wards and a pre- and post-operative ward where we work in interdisciplinary teams. We provide both highly specialized care and broad orthopedic services. We collaborate with several departments within Sus, which provides insight into a wide range of diseases and a stimulating work environment. We focus on care, research, and education, which are the foundation for good and patient-safe care. Orthopedic physiotherapy is conducted within the sections of children, shoulder, back, foot, trauma, sports medicine, arthroplasty, and sarcoma.

We now welcome a physiotherapist to our unit in Lund. Here you will be offered a varied and enjoyable job where no day is the same. The physiotherapy unit is responsible for both the ward (inpatient care) and the clinic (outpatient care), giving you the opportunity to work broadly and develop within your professional field.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

At the clinic, you will meet both children and adults as a physiotherapist. We conduct assessments and initiate rehabilitation within highly specialized orthopedics. Patients may be newly injured and come directly from the emergency room, but may also have subacute injuries and other orthopedic conditions where the assessment is the basis for possible surgical intervention. We perform postoperative checks and initiate specific rehabilitation after conservative and surgical treatment. The work involves close collaboration with orthopedic doctors, nurses, nursing assistants, occupational therapists, plaster technicians, medical secretaries, and administrators at the clinic. The work is highly specialized, and if you are an experienced physiotherapist with relevant education and courses, you will have greater responsibility in the outpatient operations. Our diverse orthopedic mission gives you the opportunity for varied tasks and professional development.

On the wards, you will be part of an interdisciplinary team where your specific competence as a physiotherapist will play a leading role. Your tasks will include assessing, mobilizing, training, and informing patients and their relatives to achieve optimal rehabilitation for a safe discharge. We highly value ward work as it allows you to follow the patient throughout the entire care chain from inpatient care to outpatient clinic.

As a new employee with us, you will receive an introduction and shadowing during your initial period to ensure a safe and good start. The physiotherapy unit within VO orthopedics is also the first unit within Skåne University Hospital to establish specialist positions. Sus is also facing an exciting development project to establish a career and service model that offers good development opportunities for you as a physiotherapist.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who are a licensed physiotherapist with the authority to practice within Swedish healthcare. It is advantageous if you have experience in physiotherapeutic work within orthopedics as well as diseases of the musculoskeletal system. Education in orthopedic manual therapy (OMT) and Axelina is also meritorious. Language skills in Swedish at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe's level scale are required.

As a person, you are calm and work methodically and structured even when handling multiple parallel tasks. You are flexible and have the ability to quickly refocus as you will work in an environment that conducts emergency operations and changes rapidly. You also have a professional and empathetic approach towards patients and their relatives, where you create security in the meeting with attentiveness and respect.

This recruitment applies ongoing selection. We warmly welcome your application!
