Make a Difference. Every Day.

At our cognitive reception, we are now looking for another employee for a temporary position with the possibility of extension. We are seeking a nurse or an occupational therapist interested in working with us! We offer you a varied job and a good working climate in a small but driven workplace with about 35 engaged and positive employees.

The area of cognitive medicine is Region Skåne's first staff-driven healthcare operation. This means that we have a manager and manage our allocated budget ourselves. To assist the manager, there is a management group with staff representatives and workplace meetings that function as advisory and decision-making bodies. All employees have the same job security as others within Region Skåne. The catchment area is the eight municipalities of northwestern Skåne.

Within the area of operation, the cognitive reception is one of five specialist units for the investigation of cognitive diseases in Region Skåne, as well as a consulting team for primary care regarding patients with severe BPSD, behavioral and psychological symptoms of cognitive diseases. The staff is also involved in several different research projects and organizes training and lectures. The area of operation also includes the secretariat for a national quality register, the BPSD register.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

At the reception, we strive to work in teams, and as a nurse or occupational therapist, you will assess individuals seeking help for cognitive impairment together with a physician. The work primarily consists of performing cognitive tests, which are conducted both on paper and digitally. In the role of a nurse, you will also assist with lumbar punctures, provide telephone advice, and follow up with patients and/or relatives to check primarily on newly prescribed medications. As a nurse, you will also have your own consultation visits ranging from EKGs to more advanced visits regarding investigations, advice, and to some extent supervision. As an occupational therapist, the work may also involve activity assessments and advice regarding aids and participation in cognitive rehabilitation.

An important part of the job is seamless network care for patients, which we achieve through good collaboration with other professional categories within the area of operation and with the municipalities' cognitive teams/dementia nurses. As a staff-driven operation, we have also initiated a training group that offers courses in cognitive testing and lectures externally.

We have a dynamic operation with employees who contribute to development through their qualities and unique competencies. You have great opportunities to influence us based on your previous experiences.

The working hours are scheduled from 08:00 to 16:30, Monday to Friday, with the possibility of flexible hours.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is a licensed nurse or occupational therapist with the authority to work within Swedish healthcare. You also have specialist training, preferably in geriatrics, psychiatry, as a Silvia nurse or Silvia occupational therapist, and experience in cognitive assessments. Language skills in Swedish corresponding to at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale are required.

As a person, you are loyal and secure in your approach to patients. Additionally, you have a positive attitude and take great responsibility for your tasks independently and would like to help develop our operations. We also value good communication skills and the ability to quickly adapt to new situations. The reception sees individuals of various ages and backgrounds. For us, it is a given that you have a good demeanor, are easy to collaborate with, and enjoy working in a team. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.

This recruitment will be conducted on an ongoing basis. We warmly welcome your application today; we look forward to getting to know you!
