JOB DESCRIPTION

We are now looking for you who want to work as a substitute in our schools and leisure centers during the school year 2026!

As a substitute in the school, you will be an important part of our children's and young people's learning and development. You will work in the daily operations in meetings with children, parents, and colleagues when regular staff are not present. You will have the entire municipality as your workplace, which means you will get to know our various operations and gain a lot of experience in different areas.

The work as a substitute means that you will be called in, sometimes at short notice, in the absence of regular staff. You will inform us of the days and times you are available for work through our staffing system TimePool. Elementary School

Our school activities start with preschool class and extend to grade nine. You can substitute in preschool class, as a class teacher, resource in class, or as a teacher for the higher grades where you teach specific subjects.

Leisure Centers

The leisure center activities are located at the respective school where the student already attends. The departments are usually divided by age so that children can be with their classmates. Together with other colleagues, you contribute to a stimulating and developing leisure time based on the children's needs and interests.

Adapted Elementary School

Adapted elementary school is an alternative to regular school for students who are not assessed to be able to meet the knowledge requirements of regular school due to having an intellectual disability. As a substitute in the adapted school's activities, you work as support for the children and young people who have special needs and different types of functional variations. The education is adapted to each student's conditions.

QUALIFICATIONS

To work as a substitute in school activities, you need to have a completed high school diploma, or alternatively, an education in Child and Leisure (Adult) as a childcare worker. You need to verify this by attaching your grades with your application.

You must be at least 18 years old to work as a substitute in our operations.

You have a good command of the Swedish language and can speak and write Swedish fluently.

You need to be able to get to work at short notice.

It is an advantage if you have a higher ongoing or completed pedagogical education to work with children, such as a preschool teacher, teacher, special educator, or leisure educator.

We would like you to have previous experience working with children and young people.

A criminal record extract must be presented before an employment contract is signed. You order your criminal record extract on the Police's website, form 442.5: Work in school, preschool, or childcare.

OTHER

Hallstahammar municipality is part of the Finnish administrative area, and we welcome applicants with knowledge of Finnish in speech and writing.
