Lawyer or Risk Expert at the Financial Supervisory Authority

About the job

As a lawyer or risk expert in the Resilience Department at the Financial Supervisory Authority (FI), you will handle cases related to FI's mission as a supervisory authority under the security protection legislation.

You will analyze and evaluate documents and information based on the requirements of the security protection regulations and participate in the work to ensure compliance with the regulations in the financial sector. You will also be responsible for leading supervisory activities conducted by the unit and for preparing materials for decisions. Additionally, you will participate in monitoring and following developments in the security protection area and the risks that financial companies and the financial system as a whole are exposed to.

The work involves collaboration with other supervisory authorities and close contact with supervised companies. You will represent the authority in dialogue, which requires good judgment and the ability to communicate clearly with different target groups. You will also participate in the development of FI's internal process and method support as well as regulation in the area.

You will also participate in FI's mission as a preparedness authority and sector-responsible authority. You will analyze, from the perspective of the security protection law, the corporate information that the authority receives within the framework of the assignment and the measures that FI plans to enhance the sector's preparedness capacity together with the financial companies.

To solve our complex mission, it often requires different perspectives and expertise. This means you will work together with and learn from specialists in a variety of fields at FI.

Your education and experience

We are looking for someone who:

• has relevant academic education in areas such as law, economics, or political science
• has several years of experience working with security protection regulations, or alternatively several years of experience working with operational risks or in an auditing or control function at a government agency or within the financial sector
• has experience in formulating materials for decisions
• expresses themselves very well in both Swedish and English, in both speech and writing.

It is an advantage if you:

• have an academic degree in law
• have good knowledge of financial companies and the financial system as a whole, as well as the risks they are exposed to
• have experience working with supervision at a government agency
• have experience with security protection regulations or preparedness work

This position requires Swedish citizenship and involves security clearance and background checks according to the security protection law.
