Security Officer at the Swedish Migration Agency

We are looking for a security officer for the service unit at the Swedish Migration Agency.

What does a security officer do?

As a security officer at the service unit of the Swedish Migration Agency, you will be part of a joint governmental resource regarding operational security issues for the agency's common administrative premises, detention centers, and also for our accommodation facilities within the geographical region. Together with the Agency's Security Department, the service units provide expertise in several security areas.

As a security officer, you will have coordination and follow-up responsibility for systematic fire protection work, access control, physical premises security, CCTV, surveillance and alarm management, security risk analysis, security, crisis and evacuation planning, as well as card and access administration. You will work in consultation with the operations as well as with other security officers and employees in the unit and in other service units. The work involves travel in the service, both within and outside the region.

You act as an advisor and provide support to the agency's other units. To contribute to this, monitoring the external environment with networking both within and outside the agency is required. You have a local ordering responsibility within the security area. Furthermore, you are the unit's contact person towards our suppliers of security systems, locks/alarms/access, surveillance, and fire protection.

Finally, you contribute to improvement work by conducting certain analyses and follow-ups in all areas and planning measures together with other security officers and employees in the unit, but also in the national network of security officers available at the service units. You follow up and address any deficiencies based on inspection protocols in our common premises. You are responsible for managing technical facilities within the security area and for maintaining and developing routines within your area of responsibility.

You have good collaboration skills and relate to people in a responsive and smooth manner. You listen, communicate, and resolve conflicts constructively. In your role, you consider the best interests of the entire organization in your actions and decisions. You are independent and take into account applicable regulations.

You who are applying have:

• Post-secondary education with a focus on technical security, risk or crisis management, or other equivalent education combined with work experience that the employer deems equivalent.
• Experience in continuity planning (disaster plan/interruption plan).
• Knowledge of applicable legislation regarding security protection law, work environment law, etc.
• Good communication skills and you can express yourself well in both spoken and written form, in both Swedish and English.
• Good knowledge of MS Office.
• Driver's license B.
• Swedish citizenship.

It is meritorious if you have:

• Experience in security work within public operations.
• Knowledge of security routines in locked environments.
• Experience in practical security technology connected via Unison or another overarching alarm management system.
• Experience working in project form with premises security.
• Experience in practical SBA work.
• Experience working according to an activity-based working method.

Security screening with background checks according to the security protection law (2018:585) will be conducted. Based on this, there is a requirement for Swedish citizenship. Employment is contingent upon a successful security screening.
