About the Security Assessment Section

The section's mission is to conduct security assessments of individuals before they begin their military basic training as conscripts. You will be employed by the Swedish Armed Forces, but the work is primarily carried out at the National Service and Assessment Agency. The section is under the command of the Life Guards, and as a staff member in the section, you will serve at several of the garrison's units in central Stockholm and Kungsängen.

Main Responsibilities

Security assessments are conducted to determine whether an individual can be deemed trustworthy and loyal, and to clarify that an individual does not have any vulnerabilities in terms of security. This is a requirement according to the Security Protection Act if one is to participate in activities of significance to Sweden's security, which the Swedish Armed Forces' operations entail.

The Security Assessment Section is therefore looking for a Security Officer / Security Assessor who will:

  • Independently conduct security assessments of conscripts, including all components.
  • Ensure quality work both individually and for the section.
  • Actively contribute to the daily operations and flow of the organization.
  • Provide direct support to section leaders and the security department at the Life Guards.
  • Support function to the unit's other security organization at the Life Guards.
  • Perform additional tasks for the section and the security organization at the Life Guards.

Qualifications

  • At least a 3-year upper secondary education.
  • Very good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form.
  • Driver's license with category B (manual).

To fit the role of Security Officer / Security Assessor, you need to be an analytical, structured, and meticulous person who enjoys meeting people and driving conversations. You must be able to take initiative and independently manage cases, while also being supportive and unpretentious, able to both seek and provide advice to colleagues.

Furthermore, we believe you are a confident person who finds it easy to establish contact and is attentive in conversations, creating trust while always maintaining your own integrity. Since the work involves tasks with high confidentiality, good judgment and a high level of security awareness are required.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Education in security assessment / personal investigation or equivalent as deemed comparable by the employer.
  • Experience working with structured interviews and personal assessments, personal investigations, personnel selection, or equivalent as deemed comparable by the employer.
  • Experience working with security assessments.
  • Experience within the Swedish Armed Forces.

Other Information

The position is a civilian position full-time. Employment type: Permanent employment. (The Swedish Armed Forces applies a six-month probationary period for those not already employed by the authority) Start date: By agreement. Work location: Stockholm and Kungsängen. Travel: Occurs in the position. Working hours: Varying between 07:30 and 18:00.

The Life Guards is one of the largest units in the Swedish Armed Forces, with roots dating back to 1521. We train tomorrow's soldiers, as well as military police and personnel who will carry out international missions. We guard the royal palaces, and we have security and ground combat units. We are also responsible for preserving and developing the Swedish military music tradition. Our headquarters is in Kungsängen outside Stockholm, but we also have units in Sollentuna, central Stockholm, Uppsala, Gothenburg, and Karlskrona.

Employment with us means placement in a security class. Usually, Swedish citizenship is required.
