Job Advertisement: Security Protection Specialist
The Total Defence Research Institute (FOI) is a government agency conducting world-leading research in defense and security to support Sweden's military and civil defense. The research spans several areas, including underwater, cyber defense, space, electronic warfare, sensor systems, civil defense, CBRNe (chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, and explosive substances), military platforms including weapons and protection, as well as security policy analyses. FOI's research plays a key role in building Sweden's defense capability.
About the Position
In collaboration with colleagues in the security protection unit, you will support the agency in its security protection work. The work encompasses tasks within the entire security protection area.
Examples of tasks include:
- Administering permissions and access in access control systems
- Planning and conducting training in security protection
- Administering visit requests to Sweden and abroad (Request for Visit, RFV and Personnel Security Clearance, PSC)
- Handling incoming local security reports/security incidents
- Providing support to the organization in security protection matters
- Conducting security clearance interviews
Do you have the competence profile we need?
Requirements
We are looking for someone who has:
- Experience in operational and administrative security protection work
- Experience in providing active support and advice in security protection matters
- Good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing, in both Swedish and English.
- Driver's license (B)
As a person, you have a high degree of personal maturity and a strong security awareness. You work in a structured manner and take responsibility for driving your tasks forward. To succeed in the role, you need to have good communication skills, be able to educate, and create understanding of security protection and information security. You enjoy working together with others and are service-oriented. We place great importance on your personal qualities.
Meritorious
Relevant security protection training, for example within the Armed Forces, Corporate University, or via SSF. Experience working in the public sector with similar operations. Experience in some of the unit's areas of operation such as physical protection, technical surveillance, personnel security, signal protection, information security, or security-protected procurement.

The position is a permanent employment that may start with a six-month probationary period.

As the position is classified, Swedish citizenship is required. A security clearance with a background check will be conducted prior to employment according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585).
