Stockholm South Area
The Stockholm South area is part of the Swedish Prison and Probation Service, Stockholm Region, and consists of Asptuna Prison in Norsborg and Beateberg Prison/Remand Center in Trångsund.
Asptuna Prison is an open facility with 178 places in security class 3, located in Norsborg, about 20 kilometers south of Stockholm. Beateberg Prison is a closed facility in security class 2 with 80 places and an open section, Grindstugan, in security class 3 with 8 places for women. Beateberg Remand Center is located within the same area as Beateberg Prison with 88 places in community. At both facilities, clients serve sentences of varying lengths, from 14 days to life. Studies are conducted for clients at basic and high school levels, and there is carpentry work where clients are engaged in various types of tasks.
The position is based at Asptuna Prison, but work at A/H Beateberg may occur.
JOB DESCRIPTION
As the duty officer, you will operationally lead and distribute the daily work at the remand center and prison in consultation with the prison inspectors. Your tasks also include staffing issues in the form of short-term ranking. In this work, you will collaborate with our central staffing team. The duty officer represents the employer and is a guarantee that the management line is maintained all the way to all employees. The work is varied and often maintains a high pace. In the role, you will anchor decisions made, communicate directly and clearly, and contribute to a safe and efficient work environment.
In the role, you will, among other things, follow up on daily safety work and take action as needed, ensure that laws, regulations, directives, and the safety plan are followed. Additionally, assist management in Stockholm South in local safety meetings, training activities, safety plans, etc. You will exercise operational leadership based on the needs of the operations, with transport and safety work as particularly prioritized areas. Decision-making occurs according to the regulations of the Swedish Prison and Probation Service.
The duty officer constitutes, outside office hours, the highest local operational decision-maker under the duty prison director.
Within the Stockholm South area, a total of ten duty officers will work, a team of five at Asptuna Prison and five at Beateberg Prison/Remand Center. These ten constitute the duty officer group of VO Stockholm South with a common manager. The group will work closely together regarding routines and structure and will replace each other during training, vacations, or other absences.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone who has the ability to overview and see the operations from a holistic perspective. You are calm and stable in stressful situations, communicate clearly, and have the ability to make quick decisions and act on them, despite limited information. You demonstrate judgment under time pressure, focus on the right things, and take responsibility for your tasks.

Requirements:
- Complete upper secondary education in the form of a final certificate or diploma, or other education combined with work experience deemed relevant by the Swedish Prison and Probation Service
- Internal duty officer training from the Swedish Prison and Probation Service
- Experience working as a duty officer
- Experience in legal decision-making
- Experience working with the Swedish Prison and Probation Service's administrative support programs (KVR, Heroma, Krita, INTIK)
- Good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written
- Driving license B
Meritorious:
- Experience working with short-term ranking
- Experience in supervisory roles or operational safety work
- Knowledge of the Working Hours Act
- Qualification in training leader education and experience in training and educational activities
- Experience working with the legal process and knowledge in the area of judgment handling
