About the project and us

Gällivare Näringsliv AB has been granted funding within the framework of a Leader project aimed at creating a more vibrant, sustainable, and attractive Gällivare. This is achieved through collaboration with retailers, restaurants, the tourism industry, and property owners. With increased coordination, stronger engagement, and more activities, the goal is to strengthen the local economy, reduce climate impact, and make Gällivare a more attractive and forward-looking place for both visitors and residents. The project, conducted under the name “Trade and Place Development in Gällivare,” encompasses the entire Gällivare municipality and focuses on creating long-term working methods and collaboration forms that strengthen trade and the local economy.

This project manager position, lasting 18 months, will be part of the business organization Gällivare Näringsliv AB and will report directly to the CEO. Gällivare Näringsliv is tasked with creating conditions for conducting business that fosters long-term competitiveness and a sustainable economy in Gällivare. About the role – Your opportunity to make a difference for Gällivare!

As a project manager, you will play a key role during the project period by surveying, mapping, and coordinating the needs within trade, restaurants, property owners, and the tourism industry, with the aim of developing and solidifying new working methods and networks. The goal is for the project to create sustainable working methods and collaboration forms, contributing to more visitors, increased revenue, and an improved trade index. The role combines strategic planning with practical coordination – and not least relationship building to create long-term positive effects.

Your main responsibilities

· Project Manager: You are responsible for ensuring that the project plan is implemented according to set goals and timelines. This means that you plan realistic timelines, establish milestones and activities, and follow up on progress. You report the project's development both in writing and verbally to relevant parties and ensure that the project progresses according to plan.

· Network Builder: Communicate and create contacts with trade, restaurants, and the tourism industry to understand where collaboration and development opportunities exist.

· Team Player: As part of Gällivare Näringsliv, you contribute to a work culture that promotes collaboration, transparency, and inclusion. You communicate clearly about timelines and priorities.

Who we are looking for

The project has several clear objectives to be achieved within a project period of about 18 months. To succeed in the role, it is important that you are structured, self-driven, and have the ability to move the work forward. An important part involves creating sustainable networks and working methods where private actors, the public sector, and civil society collaborate. Your social skills and engagement will therefore be crucial in building trust and promoting collaborations.

We welcome candidates with experience in a similar role, such as project manager, but the most important thing is that you are the right person for the assignment. Proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written, is a requirement, but we welcome applicants with diverse experiences and backgrounds. We see diversity as a strength and an important part of our work. A valid driver's license (B) is required.
