Continuous Improvement Leader (CIL) at Smurfit Westrock

About the Role

Initially, you will continue our work to take daily management, continuous improvements, and the work with Six Sigma to a new level.

This is done in collaboration with the group's Business Excellence organization, all functions throughout the organization, and other CIL functions at other paper mills in the division.

You will coordinate various improvement activities, such as those related to sustainability and the manufacturing process. The role also includes educating, driving, and participating in improvement projects where you will have a key role in our Green belt projects.

The Continuous Improvement Leader reports to the Head of Process Development and is functionally led by the Director of Continuous Improvement. All paper mills within Smurfit Westrock have a similar role to CIL.

Your Background

You are a civil engineer or have equivalent competence with an interest in the process industry, technology, and improvement work. A prerequisite for success in the role is that you have experience and interest in structured problem solving.

We are looking for someone who is driven to think innovatively and improve. We see that you are ambitious, humble, and good at taking initiative. You are good at building relationships and are clear in your communication while being receptive to your surroundings.

As a person, you are stable and conscientious with an ability to convey knowledge and observations in a structured and easily understandable way. You have a very good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in both Swedish and English.

The idea is that the person in this position will build knowledge and competence in Lean and Six Sigma and then move on within the organization for new challenges.

The position is full-time, 37.5 hours per week, with entry by agreement.
