Business Description

The finance department consists of financial management/accounting, finance administrators, and procurement. Financial management handles overall budget, financial statements, and follow-up processes. The financial management unit provides qualified controller support in financial and strategic matters to the administrations, committees, and boards.

Your organizational affiliation is under the support and development administration (SoU), which is the municipality's central competence for development, administration, finance, personnel, IT, and information. Your position is located in the finance department/financial management unit, and you report directly to the CFO. This position is aimed at the social services administration.

Responsibilities

As a controller, you are part of a group of eight other controllers/economists who manage the municipality's overall finances and support the municipality's operations in budget processes, financial monitoring and analysis, investigations, preparation of cases, and reporting, etc. Your task is to be proactive and lead development in the financial area towards the administrations but also the overall development together with the entire finance department. The social services administration is working on developing the monitoring of performed hours compared to approved support hours, which provides good support for monitoring. The controller will be involved in this development work.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a university education, preferably a master's degree, in financial management or another educational level and experience that the employer deems relevant. Experience in public administration is advantageous but not required. In your work, you will have many personal contacts, so it is important that you enjoy working with people, have a pedagogical approach, be solution-oriented, and have a pronounced service mindset. It is also positive if you are interested in social issues. We assume that you are proficient in the Office suite, especially Excel, and that you have good verbal and written communication skills.

Working Hours/Duration

Full-time, permanent position. Probationary employment may occur.
