The Center for Multilingualism (CFF) is a central unit responsible for organizing mother tongue education and study guidance in Norrköping municipality.

We are located at Södra Promenaden 60, Fenixhuset. We assist both municipal and independent schools from grade 3 up to high school. Mother tongue education is mandatory when the student has applied for it. Our teaching and assessment are based on the curriculum (Lgr22).

We are now looking for a mother tongue teacher/study guide in Somali.

Your tasks

As a mother tongue teacher, you are responsible for planning, implementing, grading, and evaluating the subject according to the curriculum and syllabus.

Groups in mother tongue consist of students with different knowledge levels and different grades. You adapt the teaching to the students and support their knowledge development.

You contribute to students developing their identity, cultural competence, and ability to communicate in speech and writing in their mother tongue while continuously making comparisons. Teaching primarily takes place at various schools in the municipality.

In study guidance, you develop the student's school language related to subjects in both Swedish and the mother tongue and collaborate closely with the student's regular subject teachers. You also provide support to ensure that the student has a safe start in Swedish school.

Who are you?

We are looking for someone who has grown up in the geographical language area and has teacher training from their home country and/or Sweden. A teaching license in the subject of mother tongue and/or training in study guidance is desirable.

Experience in mother tongue teaching and study guidance in Swedish schools is an advantage.

As a person, you are positive, trustworthy, and persistent. You quickly orient yourself in new environments and find it easy to connect with students, staff, and guardians.

You are a good listener and enjoy working with students to develop their mother tongue. You need to be independent and enjoy collaborating and developing together with your colleagues.
