Studieförbundet Bilda is looking for a development officer focused on the Orthodox Church, based in Linköping.

Bilda is a study association that offers study circles, cultural programs, and other social meeting places. Our mission is to support our partners, member organizations, and individuals' engagement to realize ideas and initiatives together. With our support, people from different backgrounds can come together around questions of faith and life.

Bilda Sydöst is one of six regions in Studieförbundet Bilda, operating in Blekinge, Jönköping, Kalmar, Kronoberg, and Östergötland counties, with a regional office in Jönköping and local offices in Kalmar, Karlskrona, Linköping, and Växjö.

About the position

Starting in January 2025, we will begin our new operational commitment focusing on faith and life interpretation as a basis for existential health. Special attention will be given to reaching young people, the elderly, and foreign-born individuals with the goal of breaking social isolation and strengthening both individual well-being and democracy. We are now looking for a person who can contribute to this work.

Your main task will be to be responsible for parts of Bilda's work with our Orthodox congregations in Östergötland in close collaboration with other development officers in Linköping.

You will work with activities within culture, Christian faith and theology, sustainability, integration, and the development of this in Östergötland where there is Orthodox activity.

Your tasks will include planning and executing events, with a strong emphasis on co-creation and enabling more people to access and actively participate in various forms of cultural and group activities. The role includes initiating, executing, and following up. You will recruit, train, and introduce circle leaders and ensure they receive ongoing support in their work. You will also conduct Bilda's continuing education for circle leaders. The work includes several administrative tasks.

You will be part of a region of engaged colleagues working with popular education within our three profile areas: culture, church, and society. The role offers good opportunities for independent work, personal responsibility, and contributing to the development of our popular education efforts together with others.

We are looking for someone who:

• Has at least a high school education and several years of relevant work experience.

• Is innovative, relationship-building, and has a relevant network connected to the Orthodox Church.

• Has good knowledge of the Orthodox Church in Sweden, has personal experience of congregational life in Östergötland, and has curiosity about faith and the church in general.

• Is a secure person with integrity, strong self-motivation, and good collaboration skills with patience and curiosity about differing opinions.

• Has personal experience of study circles and other cultural events.

• Plans and organizes your work in a structured manner and has good administrative skills, preferably with project management experience.

• Has good communication skills in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.

• Is accustomed to using social media and the Office suite and can easily learn digital tools and systems.

• Has a B driver's license, and it is advantageous if you have access to your own car, as our contacts are spread throughout the region.

• We would like you to have experience with Oriental music and be accustomed to leading meetings and courses.

Meritorious:

• Worked with diversity issues, and if you also have experience in accessibility, it is meritorious.

• Experience working in projects with leadership, goal-oriented planning, and follow-up.

• Experience in popular education.

• Work within civil society and the non-profit sector.

• Familiarity with our member organizations.

• Have been a circle leader for a study circle.
