Your Responsibilities

Your starting point as a preschool teacher is to have overall pedagogical responsibility in the preschool. You are expected to lead and distribute the pedagogical work within the team while contributing to creating collegial learning. The team should work together to plan, teach, document, and evaluate the content of the activities based on the preschool curriculum and other governing documents.

As a preschool teacher, you promote each child's development and learning based on their interests, experiences, and needs. You create curiosity and a desire to learn, both during planned activities and spontaneous moments. In your role, you will collaborate closely with colleagues and guardians, as well as potential contacts with other actors regarding the child.

As a lead preschool teacher, you will spend most of your working hours as a preschool teacher in the operation and the remaining time on tasks to mentor, coach, and support colleagues to develop and work towards high and equitable quality in education. You will work to develop teaching based on scientific principles and proven experience. Your specific assignment may vary depending on the needs of the organization and be shaped in collaboration with the management team.

Your Workplace

The preschool area T1/Vasastaden consists of seven preschools, which vary in size. The smallest preschool accommodates 25 children, while the largest can accommodate 120 children.

At preschools T1/Vasastaden, we focus on preschool teachers' leadership, work environment, and good collaboration at the area level. We work based on a language goal with a strong focus on waiting for and meeting the children. We also engage in joint planning to ensure good staffing at all our preschools every day.

The administration is centrally located at Brunnsgatan 10, where the principal and deputy principals work alongside the area's administrative assistant, staffing administrator, and special educator. At preschools T1/Vasastaden, we also have three lead preschool teachers and a janitor. In the surrounding area, there are great opportunities for cultural activities and rich nature experiences, such as libraries, museums, and nearby wooded areas and playgrounds.

Who You Are

It is a requirement that you have a preschool teacher license. As a lead preschool teacher, you have several years of well-recommended experience in the role of preschool teacher. You have a strong interest in developing teaching. It is advantageous if you have experience as a team leader, lead preschool teacher, or other leadership experience.

You must have a preschool teacher license, or you should have completed or be in the process of completing education to become a preschool teacher. You should also have experience working as a preschool teacher in a preschool or have other relevant experience working with children as assessed by the employer.

As a lead preschool teacher, you have several years of well-recommended previous experience in the role of preschool teacher and hold a preschool teacher license.

You have good communication skills in both spoken and written Swedish. This is necessary so that you can organize and carry out the work according to the curriculum (Lpfö18) to support the child's language and communication development and ensure that each child can use the Swedish language in a rich and nuanced way.

In your role as a preschool teacher, you are well aware of the goals and quality standards for preschool operations. You have a good understanding of people's differences and relate to them in a responsive and flexible manner in teaching and the everyday life of the preschool. You create good relationships and collaborate well with the contacts that occur in your professional role. You lead the work with both children and colleagues through motivation, engagement, and participation. As a lead preschool teacher, you are a knowledge resource for others and continuously maintain your knowledge.
