At SCAMA, we develop, design, manufacture, install, and maintain runway safety systems for aircraft in military forces around the world. About the Role

As a Senior Development Engineer at SCAMA, you will work on technical innovations to develop and improve our runway safety systems – systems used to safely stop aircraft in emergencies on runways. You will have the opportunity to be involved in the entire development process, from concept and feasibility studies to finished system solutions. You will also work closely with the marketing department and have significant influence on technical decisions and directions in our projects.

At SCAMA, you will have a broad and varied role where your analytical skills and knowledge in mechanics, hydraulics, mechatronics, and other technical areas will be crucial in creating reliable solutions for our customers worldwide.

Main Responsibilities:

• Conduct feasibility studies and concept investigations for upcoming projects.
• Investigate and interpret specifications to develop technical solutions.
• Support designers and project managers with technical assessments and advice.
• Develop solutions in areas such as mechanics, electronics, hydraulics, and mechatronics.
• Review and guide technical investigations and ensure that solutions meet customers' high safety requirements.

As a development engineer, you will belong to our Engineering Department and report to the Technical Manager.

About You

We are looking for someone with a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or equivalent with substantial experience as a systems engineer, preferably from a leading position. You possess very high technical knowledge and a good understanding of design.

As a person, you are analytical, structured, and capable of working broadly across different technical disciplines. You thrive in a central role where you can collaborate both internally and externally. You are meticulous, enjoy delving into various technical disciplines to understand technical solutions from the ground up, while also being able to see the big picture and are driven to find solutions to complex technical challenges. In this role, you will work with technical documentation in both English and Swedish.
