Work as a Material Coordinator at Östra Götaland Rescue Service

We are now looking for an experienced material coordinator who wants to be a part of the Östra Götaland Rescue Service. Working as a material coordinator at Östra Götaland Rescue Service is a fun and varied job where you play a significant role in enabling the rescue service to fulfill its mission in society. You will have great opportunities for personal development and be part of a team of technicians working in various areas with freedom under responsibility. All material is essential for us to complete our mission, and we will need your experience to ensure that firefighters can work and train safely and securely. You will be an important person in contributing knowledge to other rescue services across the country.

Your responsibilities include:

• Budgeting and analysis and follow-up of financial goals
• Invoicing work
• Calculating costs for materials and work in a cost-effective manner
• Responsible for the leasing agreements of materials
• Creating training and informational materials
• Ordering materials
• Performing inspections and troubleshooting (fire protection)
• Maintaining item registers, updating suppliers, and finding replacement components as needed
• Delivering/collecting materials from our stations
• Monitoring the market for new fire materials being released
• Staying updated on occupational safety laws in the area

We expect you to have:

• A technical education that may include courses in material handling, or other experience that we assess as equivalent.
• Experience with fire materials
• Experience with smoke protection management, including radio equipment
• Proficiency in the Office suite, primarily Excel
• A valid B driver's license
• Fluency in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.

Meritorious

• Experience in purchasing/procurement
• A valid C driver's license

You have the ability to handle multiple ongoing matters simultaneously while maintaining good relationships with both suppliers and internal customers. Your flexibility and commitment to finding solutions make you a valuable asset in all contexts.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

Your working hours will primarily be during daytime between 7 AM and 4 PM, with the possibility of flexible hours by agreement.

Our stations have gyms that you will have access to, and you will have wellness time of 1 hour per week included in your working hours.

About us

The Östra Götaland Rescue Service is a municipal association with five members: the municipalities of Linköping, Norrköping, Söderköping, Valdemarsvik, and Åtvidaberg. We have approximately 450 employees.

Within our association, there are a total of 20 rescue stations and fire brigades. Four stations are staffed full-time, two in Linköping and two in Norrköping. The association also has training units in Norrköping and Linköping.

The most common professions with us are firefighter, fire engineer, and rescue personnel on standby, RIB (part-time firefighter). We also have a fantastic group of technicians, mechanics, trainers, and administrators of various kinds. One of our most important tasks is to increase safety and prevent accidents from occurring. Contributing to raising people's own knowledge and ability so that everyone can have their own safety in their hands is something we work intensively on. But when an accident occurs, our work is about saving lives, property, and the environment, as well as assisting during crises in society. Since we are important to our residents, it is valuable for us as a rescue service to reflect society. We therefore value cultural competence as we see that it adds further understanding, experience, and knowledge in our interactions with residents while also developing ourselves and our organization. The position may be classified according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585). You will be placed in a military capacity within the association. The rescue service is a drug- and alcohol-free workplace, which is why drug testing with the support of occupational health services is conducted before employment. We work with collective agreements, which we see as a security in working life.
