As a school counselor, you are part of our student health team and work closely with students, educators, and school management.

The role of the school counselor requires the ability to manage multiple perspectives, as the school social work aims to protect and highlight the importance of structural, organizational, and relational perspectives. This requires knowledge of children and youth as well as their development. The psychosocial intervention is based on knowledge in social work, psychosocial change work, sociology, psychology, social law, and a broad and continuously updated knowledge of the welfare system. As a school counselor, you are expected to take responsibility for your own professional work and how the psychosocial intervention should be concretized and shaped.

You are expected to have a good understanding of the fundamental mission according to the Education Act, curricula, and other guiding documents.

The position includes working health-promoting and preventive to contribute to a good learning and living environment for our students. You work in a structured manner and can supervise staff, lead training initiatives, conduct social and educational investigations, and document.

Expectations We are looking for experience from previous work as a school counselor and/or other social work, e.g., within social services with children/youth and their families with psychosocial needs. We believe you have an interest in building good relationships with both students, guardians, and colleagues to best meet students in their everyday lives. You have a low-affect approach and the ability to adapt your way of working with students and colleagues. You are unpretentious and believe in collaboration. For you, it is important to have good and trusting relationships with both management, colleagues, guardians, and students. You share our values Forward, Together with Heart and Wisdom.

Qualifications You have a degree in social work or another suitable behavioral science education for the purpose. You have documented knowledge of, and experience working with, children and youth with neuropsychiatric disabilities and intellectual disabilities. You have experience in supervision and master the Swedish language in speech and writing. You have good knowledge of writing academic texts/educational investigations. You are familiar with applicable laws, guiding documents, and current research. It is an advantage to have worked in the ProRenata journal system.

Duration: Temporary position starting as soon as possible until April 1, 2026

Scope: employment rate 40-60%

Working hours: Monday-Friday

Salary: Individual salary.
