I need a respite caregiver who wants to spend time with me during afternoons and weekends. I would like you to be patient and attentive. I need structure and clarity, have limited communication, and use visual support. It’s good if you have experience with autism. I can have seizures sometimes, and it’s important that you feel comfortable handling that. I like to test boundaries with new people, but if you meet me with both firmness and humility, we will have fun together. We can go to the library together and read books, have coffee, build Lego, or go to the park.

As a respite caregiver within Bambi, you are expected to initiate educational and stimulating activities. The respite service aims to relieve family members in the care of the child with disabilities and enable recovery.

You do not need to have previous experience in the profession, but it is a plus if you have experience with children or people with disabilities. As an employee at Bambi, you will have the opportunity for regular professional development and supervision, as we want you to feel secure in your role.

Salary:
Individual salary setting. Hourly/monthly salary. Collective agreement exists: KFO-Communal. You will also be offered orientation, wellness benefits, supervision, and continuous professional development.

Start date:
According to agreement. We will conduct interviews on an ongoing basis, and the position may be filled before the application deadline.

To be employed as a respite caregiver or escort, you must have a valid extract from the criminal record. The police processing time can take up to two weeks - order your record extract as soon as possible.
