Department of Landscape Architecture, Planning and Management

The position involves work at the Department of Landscape Architecture, Planning and Management, particularly within the subject group of Landscape Governance and Management, which includes 15 people. We are looking for a researcher engaged in issues related to landscape governance and management, especially focusing on operational management, for work within research projects as well as teaching and collaboration.

About the Job

The position involves conducting research, teaching, and collaboration within landscape management, focusing on operational management (maintenance, care, establishment). A significant part of the position involves research work within the international research project GREENHANCEnbt, focusing on nature-based thinking and urban cultivation, primarily contributing to operational management. Other tasks include funding and driving research and collaboration projects in cooperation with colleagues and in collaboration with the outside world. The position also includes teaching of about 25%, which may involve course responsibility for courses focused on operational management.

Your Background

We are looking for someone who has obtained a PhD in Landscape Architecture, or another relevant subject for the position, and who has conducted research focused on landscape governance and management, preferably with a focus on operational management (care, maintenance, establishment).

Good ability to communicate clearly in both spoken and written Swedish as well as English is a requirement.

Other requirements include experience of practical work with a management focus, preferably within public administration, as well as experience in planning and conducting teaching at the university level.

Experience in driving research in international projects and in collaboration with various organizations is advantageous.

About Us

The Department of Landscape Architecture, Planning and Management is part of the Faculty of Landscape Architecture, Horticultural and Crop Production Science. The department consists of approximately 90 staff active in teaching and/or research and collaboration. Research and teaching at the department are multidisciplinary and include humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, design, and engineering. The department is divided into four thematic subject areas: Design of Urban Landscapes, Landscape Planning, Vegetation Construction, and Landscape Governance and Management. The position is primarily located within the subject group of Landscape Governance and Management.
