Process Leader for Sustainable Transport

Do you want to help shape the future of sustainable transport? We are now looking for a driven process leader for the Regional Vehicles unit within the Västra Götaland Region.

Job Description

In this role, you will be involved in the management, development, and administration of our vehicle fleet. The Västra Götaland Region is in the midst of an intensive sustainability transition, and we need your expertise to navigate the sustainability issues related to the region's mobility. You will be part of a team of 7-8 colleagues based in Skövde that provides VGR with mobility based on needs. The team currently consists of financial administrators, vehicle caretakers, an administrative coordinator, and an assistant.

In your leadership role, you will work closely with the unit manager and independently make daily, operational, strategic, and administrative decisions.

As a process leader, you will be involved in the purchase and disposal of vehicles, focusing on streamlining management and vehicle usage to reduce environmental impact and costs. Your work will include providing recommendations and making decisions based on analyses of driving behavior, needs, climate, and economic sustainability. You will also prepare total cost calculations and life cycle analyses prior to the acquisition and use of the region's vehicles.

As a process leader, you will also work with issues related to procurement, service, inspections, and insurance concerning the region's vehicles. To do this, you need to stay updated on contract structures as well as developments and trends in the industry. You will also be responsible for the region's vehicle pools.

The position involves a large network of contacts ranging from internal operations, functional networks, and external suppliers such as vehicle suppliers, service workshops, interest organizations, and more.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with knowledge in mobility, sustainability, and electrification, and an interest in development. We expect you to have a higher education degree, preferably with a focus on environmental technology, logistics, sustainability issues, economics, management, or other education and experience deemed equivalent by the employer, for example from the automotive industry.

You are accustomed to using digital tools, have good administrative skills, and experience with Office 365. Furthermore, you have experience in driving processes. Since the organizational language is Swedish, you can communicate well in Swedish both orally and in writing.

As a person, you are proactive and independent with a focus on development and efficiency. You have good communication skills and can handle both external and internal contacts professionally. An interest in environmental and sustainability issues, as well as staying updated on developments and trends in the mobility industry, is a prerequisite.

If you have experience in fleet management, project management, team leadership, and/or digitization, this is a merit.
