The Pediatric Anesthesia and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (BIVA) in Lund is part of Skåne University Hospital (Sus) and provides highly specialized care for children from the Southern Health Care Region. Additionally, specialized care is provided for children with heart conditions and pediatric surgical cases. The pediatric surgical department has six operating rooms and performs pediatric surgery, pediatric cardiac surgery, as well as orthopedic, maxillofacial, and neurosurgery operations.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We are now looking for a Specialist Physician/Assistant Chief Physician for Pediatric Anesthesia in Lund!

Your main responsibilities with us include anesthesia and intensive care for children of all ages. You will work with acute assessments and the management of severely ill patients. Additionally, you will participate in the supervision of resident physicians and in the development of the unit.

The position is primarily located in Lund, and on-call duties are included.

QUALIFICATIONS

You who are applying are a licensed physician with authorization to practice within Swedish healthcare. Furthermore, you have specialist competence in anesthesia and intensive care. Language skills in Swedish at least corresponding to level C1 according to the Council of Europe’s language scale is a requirement. You should have completed or planned a course in clinical supervision. Experience in pediatric anesthesia and pediatric intensive care, as well as completed training in SSAI's program for pediatric anesthesia and pediatric intensive care, is meritorious.

For employment as an assistant chief physician, you must also have full-time service of at least three years (documented effective time) and clinical competence and independence in anesthesia and intensive care. A dissertation and/or specialist examination can be credited for a total of six months of clinical service. The following is also required:

• completed or planned clinical supervisor training
• documented teaching and supervision merits.

At a university hospital unit, it is required that physicians have pedagogical experience and education. This can be acquired through supervision of, for example, nursing and medical students as well as physicians in training or as co- or primary supervisors of doctoral candidates. Clearly describe in your application the completed or planned pedagogical courses, experience in supervision, and teaching at various levels.
