The area of operation (VO) acute care and internal medicine belongs to Skåne University Hospital (Sus) and operates in Lund and Malmö, and has its own rehabilitation unit with 45 employees. Currently, 19 physiotherapists work here alongside occupational therapists and social workers.

In Lund, we are nine physiotherapists working in a team together with doctors, occupational therapists, nurses, social workers, and nursing assistants. We staff the Emergency Department, Medicine Ward 8, Clinical Education Ward (KUA), Sus Hospital at Home, Acute Ward (AVA), Post-Acute Medicine Ward (EVA), and the Medicine Outpatient Clinic/Day Care. We rotate within the Lund operations, which provides opportunities for breadth and variation through work in both outpatient and inpatient care. With us, you will meet patients with various diagnoses and medical conditions, but you will primarily work with patient groups in the areas of respiration and circulation as well as movement and support.

In 2022, we introduced a new working method in triage at the Emergency Department, which has now been successfully implemented. This means that physiotherapists work with the flow of patients seeking treatment for musculoskeletal injuries. In the fall of 2023, we started a new care model, Sus Hospital at Home, in collaboration with municipalities in central Skåne. The team consists of doctors, nurses, occupational therapists, and physiotherapists. This provides patients with the opportunity to receive acute hospital care from the team at home instead of in the hospital.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

In the role of physiotherapist, your work is characterized by personal responsibility, participation, and teamwork. Your tasks involve assessing and treating patients, both independently and in close collaboration with occupational therapists. Together, you play important roles in the interdisciplinary team around the patient to provide them with the best possible care. The work also involves collaboration with the municipality and primary care to promote a good care period and safe discharge for the patient. At KUA, you will guide interprofessionally together with the mentoring team the students training to become doctors, nurses, occupational therapists, and physiotherapists.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is a licensed physiotherapist with the authority to practice within Swedish healthcare. Language skills in Swedish at least corresponding to level C1 according to the Council of Europe's level scale are required. Previous experience working in acute care and/or home care is an advantage. We welcome both experienced and newly graduated candidates.

Your personal qualities are of great importance for the position, and we are looking for someone who has a good ability to collaborate and communicate and promotes a good work environment. To succeed in the role, you have a good empathetic ability and can work both independently and in a team. Furthermore, you have a rehabilitative perspective and the ability to motivate and inspire those around you. You can prioritize and plan while also being able to quickly adapt to the needs of the organization for the day. It is important that you can collaborate with different professions and have a holistic view with the patient in focus. We would like you to be a brave and responsible person who dares to think outside the box and has an inner drive and a desire to develop both yourself and the organization.
