The Addiction Center is part of the adult psychiatry area (VO) Malmö-Trelleborg with its own emergency reception, three units for inpatient care, and several outpatient clinics. We offer psychiatric health and medical care interventions for individuals with addiction issues that require specialist examination and specialist care. The unit's mission includes diagnostics, care, and treatment of addiction conditions related to alcohol, medication, narcotics, and gambling.

The Addiction Center is part of university healthcare and actively conducts research and development work. We work with continuous quality assurance and have a stable staff pool with extensive experience in both psychiatry and addiction syndromes. The unit employs chief physicians, doctors, nurses, caregivers, and social workers in teams to achieve the best results for the patient. We highly value teamwork.

At the Addiction Emergency and Ward 1, we are now starting a development project that involves nurses in patient assessment and triage work. We have established new nursing positions to kickstart this work. You will have the opportunity for regular internal training and supervision and be involved in shaping the new routines.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We now have the opportunity to welcome a new nurse to our team!

We receive individuals who often find themselves in very vulnerable situations, and as a nurse, your care work is central to the care process. You will work with medication management, medication follow-up, sampling, health conversations, and the establishment of individual care plans. You will also conduct motivating and supportive conversations with patients. With us, the patient is at the center, and great importance is placed on making patients active participants in their care process. We have patient forums every week where patients can discuss their experiences of care.

As a new employee, you will be offered a tailored introduction program based on your experiences, where you will have the opportunity to shadow a more experienced colleague. This includes a thorough review of job responsibilities. Together, we will ensure that you gain the knowledge you need to succeed in your role.

QUALIFICATIONS

We welcome you as a licensed nurse with the authority to practice within Swedish healthcare. Language skills in Swedish at least at level C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale are required. We prefer that you have experience working in psychiatry, emergency care, or addiction care. A specialist education in psychiatry is also an advantage. We work in Melior, Våps, and Pasis, so it is desirable that you have experience working in these systems.

To succeed in the role, we hope that you are a treatment-oriented person with the patient in focus. You have good collaboration skills and an eye for structure and effective prioritization in your work. We expect you to be a responsible and mature person with good communication skills, who functions well both independently and in team-based work. Furthermore, you have the ability to act professionally and are confident in your professional role even in stressful situations. We consider it a given that you have a good attitude towards patients as well as colleagues. Great importance is placed on personal suitability.
