Welcome to the Preventive Unit! We are an organization tasked with developing preventive and health-promoting work within the main mission of Health. The team includes the following areas: family support, meeting places, volunteer activities, health guides, IT guides, and fix-it services, where several work to reduce involuntary loneliness.

In light of the upcoming new social services act, the Preventive Unit is facing a joint development effort to better meet the needs identified among adults and the elderly. Together, we work to offer support through outreach activities, meeting places, and volunteer work, with initiatives that promote both physical and mental health.

Our common goal is to create a safe and meaningful environment where individuals receive the support they need through active participation in activities and by building social networks.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

You will have primary responsibility for our mobile meeting places within the geographical area. You have experience leading activities and motivating and engaging others in both individual meetings and in groups.

In the role of Activity Coordinator, you will:

  • Coordinate, plan, and be responsible for various meeting places.
  • Design monthly newsletters, posters, advertise, and keep statistics.
  • Lead and participate in activities to increase social interaction for our seniors.
  • Supervise volunteers and interns.
  • Promote both existing and new activities.

Together with our seniors, as well as internal and external partners, you will work operationally to create a developing and varied content at our meeting places. We are looking for someone who wants to contribute to development and dares to think outside the box!

Working hours are primarily scheduled during the day, Monday to Friday, but evenings will occur for special activities.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who has:

  • A university degree with a pedagogical or health focus or equivalent post-secondary education combined with experience that the employer assesses as equivalent.

It is advantageous if you have:

  • Previously had budget responsibility
  • Experience working in meeting places/community centers.
  • Association activities.

You are flexible, have good collaboration skills, can express yourself well in speech and writing, and are computer literate. You have drive and can work independently, as well as a genuine interest in the target group. You strengthen relationships by helping others and collaborating. You develop, improve, seek solutions, learn, and monitor the environment on your own initiative. You are the link, provide service, and show loyalty both outward and inward. We place great importance on personal suitability.
