The Health and Care Administration, with its approximately 1500 employees, is one of the administrations in the city of Mölndal and encompasses elderly care, support for people with disabilities, and health care.

Annebergsvägen belongs to support for people with disabilities, LSS housing, and is a group home with 5 residents focusing on autism with complex needs. We who work here are a safe and experienced group looking forward to welcoming our new colleague!

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a support educator, you, together with the other educator, are responsible for supporting the support assistants in establishing implementation plans and ensuring that the implementation plans and associated documents comply with the guidelines. Your role also involves keeping yourself updated on our quality management system, including routines and guidelines, and ensuring their compliance within the operation. You will share responsibility for educational tasks, documentation, and work directly with the residents. In addition, you will, together with your support educator colleague, lead and plan team/method meetings. You will also regularly participate in support educator networks where method developers guide support educators.

As a support educator, you are a knowledge resource in the work team. You work together as support and guides for each individual employee, the work group, and also function as management support. You guide the work group based on the needs and methods of the operation. The methods you will primarily use are LAB (low-arousal approach), AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication), and Clear Pedagogy.

In the operation, you support the residents with social and practical interventions both inside and outside the home. You provide professional support by empowering the resident in their daily life and creating conditions for development and an independent life through participation and influence. All work is based on the individually established implementation plan of the resident. The work includes all tasks that occur in a home, e.g., personal hygiene, clothing care, laundry, cleaning, nutrition, cooking, shopping, finances, medication, social training, and culture.

Working hours are scheduled for days, evenings, weekends, and sleeping on-call.

QUALIFICATIONS

Requirements for the position:

• Education as a support educator or similar education that the employer can assess as equivalent.
• Experience working as a support educator.
• Experience working in support for people with disabilities.
• Familiarity with documentation.
• Good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form.

Meritorious for the position:

• Knowledge of the methods LAB (low-arousal approach), AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication), and Clear Pedagogy.
• Experience working with the autism target group.
• Driving license B

As a support educator, you gain energy from contributing to others' learning and create conditions for learning to take place. You have the ability to explain problems and information to different recipients and from different perspectives. You can, through persuasive arguments, bring enthusiasm and energy that encourages good performance, team spirit, and increased motivation. In your work, you work effectively under stress, can balance different demands, and maintain calm in difficult situations. You distinguish between the issue and the person and can make well-founded decisions under time pressure. As a support educator, you seek and seize opportunities to think innovatively in work-related contexts, and this can be translated into practice and lead to improvements. You stay updated through environmental monitoring and regularly reflect on what needs to be developed in your operation.
