Business Description

Tallbackaskolan is a primary school (F-6) with approximately 300 students, including an after-school department and two preparatory classes, located in a residential area between Gällivare and Malmberget. At Tallbackaskolan, we work with parts of the Gällivare model, which means that in each class in grades 1-2, there is a responsible teacher for teaching as well as a class mentor. In grades 3-6, a responsible teacher works with the support of a class mentor who may be associated with one or more classes. The central student health care is located at the school, and the students have access to a school counselor, school nurse, 2 special educators, a school psychologist, and the principals.

The after-school department is a complement to the school where students develop their abilities through various forms of expression based on the students' interests.

Job Duties

A substitute teacher's task is to substitute for absent staff at the school; as a teacher, teaching assistant, etc. You will mostly follow a prepared lesson plan, and the assignment is very varied. We strive for you to only cover absences in the lower or middle grades and in the afternoons at the after-school department.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with at least high school qualifications. We believe that you are positive, create engagement, participation, and consider each student's needs. As a person, you are attentive and build good relationships with students, colleagues, and parents. In working with students, you are clear in your leadership. We also believe that you are innovative and interested in school development, and we highly value the ability to collaborate.

Within the framework of the National Minority Language Act, Gällivare municipality is the administrative municipality for Sami, Meänkieli, and Finnish. Knowledge of any of these languages is a merit when applying for a position in Gällivare municipality.
