Job Description

You are part of the primary school's student health team led by the principal, and thus have close collaboration with other professionals in the student health team and educators, working in a team with other special educators.

As a special educator, you will contribute to development through special educational support. This may involve consultation, new research, guidance, and tailored training initiatives. It also means providing support and guidance to educators and resource teams and driving development work in collaboration with others to improve and change work methods and approaches. You conduct educational investigations/assessments and help design action plans to support students. You have good knowledge of compensatory tools and methods.

We offer you a stimulating job where you should be able to work independently but in close collaboration with your colleagues.

An important task is to be a qualified discussion partner and advisor on educational matters for parents, colleagues, school leaders, primary care, social services, Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Services (BUP), and other stakeholders. You are expected to work to remove obstacles to students' learning, in close collaboration within your team and with colleagues at the school.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is trained in special education or is currently undergoing training. You can work both in an overarching organizational manner and with individual students or groups. As a person, you are present, attentive, clear, and organized. You act without prestige and have the ability to create engagement, trust, and participation. We also see that you are structured and work goal-oriented, and are well acquainted with the school's governing documents. You have an easy time building good relationships and are a qualified discussion partner on educational matters, with students, parents, colleagues, and other stakeholders.

You see opportunities in changes and have a positive and accommodating attitude, taking great responsibility for your tasks. As a special educator, you should have good linguistic and written skills, as well as experience and knowledge of systematic quality work. Furthermore, you are accustomed to using and supporting others in the use of digital tools and compensatory aids in teaching.
